Project Name: Gorgon Liquefied Natural Gas Project
Location: Barrow Island, Western Australia
Client: John Holland Group, KJV (KRB & JGC)
Year: 2014-2015
From Front End Engineering Design (FEED), M&I-Labtech developed detailed engineering plans defining the laboratory layout, Gas Distribution System (GDS), laboratory furniture, all instrumentation and associated methods.
M&I-Labtech used the Revit® architecture package successfully to predict construction design clashes which enabled multiple civil teams to work simultaneously with each other without getting in each other’s way.
The laboratory size was over 6000 sq. ft., with over 80 instruments and methods. M&I-Labtech executed this challenging project in a remote part of the world working in a Nature Reserve environment with the highest HSE requirements and Quarantine Management System (QMS). The latter is regarded as the world’s largest non-government quarantine initiative (by Chevron), which serves as a model for environmental stewardship.
This project required significant operational and logistics effort from M&I-Labtech to effectively deploy a team of 25 technically qualified personnel to complete the project within the client’s deadline.
